What the control layer for AI-mediated discovery is, how it fits your existing stack, why structure matters, and where to start.

Understanding Kodiac

What is this, exactly?

What is Kodiac?

Kodiac is the control layer for AI-mediated discovery — enterprise infrastructure that sits across your existing systems and creates a trusted, structured representation of your organisation. From that foundation you understand how AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity interpret you, improve how they understand you, govern what they can rely on, and eventually expose trusted knowledge to AI directly.

Isn't this just AI visibility monitoring?

No. Monitoring tells you what AI is saying about you — that is where Kodiac starts, not where it ends. Visibility is the symptom. The underlying problem is that organisations have lost control over how AI understands them, because the knowledge AI draws on is fragmented, inconsistent and ungoverned. Kodiac Audit gives you the diagnosis; Kodiac Content and Kodiac Agent give you the control.

Do we have to replace our CMS or existing systems?

No. Kodiac sits across the systems you already run — CMS, PIM, CRM, DAM, knowledge bases, documents — and creates one structured, governed representation on top of them. There is no replatforming and no migration. Your teams keep working where they work today.

Why does structure matter if modern AI reads unstructured text so well?

It does read it well — structure is not for AI's benefit, it is for yours. Structure is how an enterprise controls what AI relies on: one consistent answer to the same question, explicit meaning instead of inference, relationships defined the way you intend, every claim traceable to a versioned and approved source, and regulated content kept inside the boundaries you set. It is about enterprise control, not AI capability.

What happens to our website?

It stays — and its role evolves. Pages become outputs; structured knowledge becomes the source. Websites, feeds, AI answers and agent responses all render from the same governed source of truth, with your organisation holding the master record.

The journey

Understand. Improve. Participate.

What are the three phases?

Phase 1 — Understand what AI is doing: Kodiac Audit shows you how AI currently understands your organisation, benchmarked against competitors and with prioritised recommendations. Phase 2 — Influence what AI does: Kodiac Content is the structured knowledge layer — content models, schema, taxonomy, knowledge graphs, governance, versioning and API delivery — so you actively improve how AI understands you. Phase 3 — Become the system AI depends on: Kodiac Agent answers AI systems and customer agents directly with trusted, real-time knowledge. Kodiac Workspace is the shared platform layer across all three.

What is a Brand Agent?

A Brand Agent is a governed interface that answers questions about your organisation directly — to AI assistants, customer agents and enterprise agents — using your structured, approved knowledge. Instead of AI systems assembling an interpretation from whatever they can find, they query you, and every answer is accurate, current and traceable to a governed source. See Kodiac Agent.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI systems connect to external tools and data sources. Kodiac Agent uses MCP alongside conventional APIs so that AI assistants and agents can discover and query your Brand Agent directly, rather than relying on stale or second-hand information.

Where do we start?

With the free audit. It shows you in about 60 seconds how the major AI systems currently understand your organisation, which sources shape that interpretation, and your three highest-leverage improvements. That is Phase 1. From there, most organisations move to Kodiac Content to build the structured foundation.

Practical questions

Pricing, coverage and procurement.

How much does Kodiac cost?

Kodiac Audit starts at £499/month, Kodiac Content at £799/month and Kodiac Agent at £1,499/month. Kodiac Workspace is bundled with every plan at no additional cost, and the free audit is a one-time snapshot with no credit card required. See full pricing.

Is the free audit really free?

Yes — no credit card, no expiry. It is a one-time snapshot covering the five major AI systems, the top 10 sources shaping how they interpret your organisation, and your top three recommended improvements, with results in around 60 seconds. Continuous monitoring and benchmarking require a paid Kodiac Audit plan.

Which AI systems does Kodiac cover?

All five major systems from day one: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Google Gemini including AI Overviews, Anthropic Claude, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Each interprets your organisation differently — which is exactly why one governed source of truth matters.

How quickly will we see change in how AI describes us?

It depends on the phase. Improvements to your own structured knowledge are typically re-read by AI systems over a period of weeks, on each system's own crawl and refresh cadence; changes to third-party sources take longer. Phase 3 is different: once a Brand Agent is live, AI systems and agents that query it get current, governed answers immediately.

How does Kodiac handle security and enterprise procurement?

SAML 2.0 SSO, SCIM 2.0, MFA, audit log, IP allowlist, UK/EU/US/APAC data residency, AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and SOC 2 Type II in flight (target Q4 2026). Kodiac is built to pass enterprise procurement, not avoid it. See the IT page.

Can agencies use Kodiac for client work?

Yes. Kodiac includes a native multi-brand workspace with portfolio dashboards, white-label configuration and prospect audits, designed for agencies and consultancies managing AI-mediated discovery across multiple client organisations. See the Agencies page.
